About Plata Wine Company:
Plata Wine Company (PWC) is an urban winery committed to crafting world class wines from meticulously grown grapes. Plata Wine Company has 9 and a half acres of vineyards in Paso Robles, where we are adamant about keeping the crop yields low. PWC strives to make wines that showcase the terroir of the wine. We make our wines along the lines of the classic French winemaking traditions, which spotlight the character of the grapes and vineyards.

About Chaz Bojorquez:
Chaz Bojorquez is the 'O.G.Veterano Godfather' of East Los Angeles 'cholo' style graffiti. He started tagging in the Los Angeles River walls in 1969 and since then has exhibited in Mexico, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Hawaii, and more than 135 art galleries and 47 museums throughout the world. His work is collected by Nicolas Cage, David Lee Roth, Esai Morales, Cheech Marin and many others. His work is also part of the permanent collection of many museums including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles. Chaz designed several of the PWC labels.

About T's California BBQ:
T's California BBQ is dedicated to catering classical Santa Maria Style BBQ made with a gourmet twist. We take the best of Santa Maria Style BBQ, California Cuisine, Southern and Western BBQ to put together the best possible combination of flavors using organic meats and farmers market fresh produce. We feature menu items such as Tri Tip, Carne Asada and Pulled Pork with our special touch. Currently, you can find T's California BBQ at the Culver City South Farmers Market each Saturday, located in the Westfield-Culver City/Fox Hills Mall parking lot.

About City Sip LA:
City Sip L.A. is a hip and funky wine bar and wine shop in the heart of Echo Park. We are focused on small-production, value priced wine. We have over 40 wines by the glass, a gourmet selection of cheese, charcuterie, paninis and salads. In addition to our wine bar, we offer wine classes for wine newbies and wine enthusiasts alike. All of our wine is available retail, as well.

About Vital Mindz:
Vital Mindz As native Angelenos, the Hip-Hop collective Vital Mindz draw from music and sounds that they grew up with. Influences like Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg as well as Nate Dogg have shaped the artist view. Hard and rhythmic rhymes are spoken with attention to cadence and timing. To say that Vital Mindz are lyrical craftsmen would be an understatement. Vital Mindz also honor the trade of the producer, as all beats are built from the ground up by the sonic wizard 'Loq', aka 'BARE', who is a guru in the world of Dubstep.

(Sorry 6Blocc unfortunately will not be joining us this evening due to some last minute scheduling changes)

SCREENING: "UN MINUTO" A FILM BY HECTOR MIRANDA

"Un Minuto" - a short film based on a classic example of Mexican Mythology.

---------------------------

About the Film:
"Un Minuto" is a classic example of Mexican Mythology, wherein our main character is a wicked man that cheats on his wife, neglects his children and spends too much time in the cantinas. His wife, however does not sit idly by; she prays daily for a miracle that will return the kind and loving man she fell in love with. God enters the picture when he chooses to answer her prayers in his own unique way that takes her husband to the very gates of Hell.

"The film is based on a story that was told to us as kids, and has been handed down in our family for several generations. My grandfather was said to know the man in the story personally, and witnessed his transformation from sinner to Saint with his own eyes. We filmed the story in Baja California's Ruta del Vino just 20 minutes from Ensenada, and received the generous support of the UDC film school and their students. The people of the Valle de Guadalupe also bought in and pitched in everything we needed and did not already have. They housed us and fed us and you'll see many of them as extras throughout the film. I truly hope you enjoy the film as much as I did making it." ~ Hector Miranda

About the Filmmaker:
Hector Miranda came to Los Angeles in 1997 after a fight with Cancer lit a fire in his belly to achieve something with the rest of his life. With a ‘do or die’ attitude he worked his way into the prestigious UCLA School of Film and Television where he took part in the famed screenwriting program and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2000. Since then he has worked in broadcast operations for a number of television networks including the NFL Network and Sony Television. He worked as a camera operator for several years and spent time as a technical director for GSN’s live show “Playmania.” Working by day while writing by night; Hector’s passion for story telling is evident in the strong characters he creates and the raw human drama he squeezes from the everyday existence we all must deal with.
